The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. 2 God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. 3 They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.
4 Have those who work evil no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God? 5 There they are, in great terror, where there is no terror! For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; you put them to shame, for God has rejected them. 6 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. Meditation Wisdom compels us to wait for the salvation of God, trusting His promise to restore. Difficulties tempt us to blame God or remove Him all together from the equation. How can a good God allow the suffering, injustice, and evil we see in our world? A fool says there is no god (1). The wise person longs for the salvation of God (6). God sees you. God sovereignly sits on His throne, working what is intended for evil in this world for His good purposes (Genesis 50:20). God sees all the children of humanity (2), all who have fallen away (3), gone astray, and become corrupt. We are dead in our sin (Ephesians 2) outside of His sovereign salvation. No one does good (2, 3) or calls upon God (4). But God will defeat His enemies (5). Salvation will come! We must agree with God’s word-. We have lived foolishly, as if there is no God. We must receive God’s astounding grace- He has not rejected us or removed Himself from us. He sees us and is ready to hear us when we cry. We can repent and return to Him, wisely waiting for his salvation and time of restoration to come. God is faithful to His promises! His love will not let us go. Let us rejoice and be glad! Richly Dwelling -Do you get drowned by difficulties and live as if there is no god? Do you see the foolishness of this choice? -God sees you and He waits for you to cry out to Him. Will you receive His grace and respond by crying out to Him in prayer? -Rejoicing and gladness are waiting for those who wait for the Lord’s salvation. God will save! He will restore! Believe. Rejoice. Be glad! Key Verse 6 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. Comments are closed.
