Oh sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. 2 The Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. 3 He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. 4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! 5 Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody! 6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord! 7 Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it! 8 Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together 9 before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity. Meditation Seeing something unique or mesmerizing stirs up a response that we are unable to contain. Consider the noise you make when you see a shooting star… “Whoah, did you see that!?” Or the sound made when someone sees a cute baby. Has anyone ever looked at a cute baby silently? That is impossible! Likewise, seeing the salvation of God leads to singing praises. “All the earth” will see the salvation of God. God saves His people from all our enemies, the greatest of which is death. God saves us from the penalty of our sin. God saves us from the power of sin. God saves us completely through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Do you see God’s salvation, our Savior on the cross and out of the grave!?! Seeing salvation demands a new song (1). Our God has done marvelous things (1). God’s steadfast love and faithfulness are seen through His salvation (3). The people should respond in elation, a joyful noise to the Lord (4). The sound of our steps should be jubilant and joyful as we join all creation in the song of salvation (7-8). The Lord has come. The Lord will come again (9)! The return of our King is good news for all who belong to Him. All that is sad will be come untrue. Tears will be wiped away. Death will be eliminated. God’s grace will be eternally celebrated! Look upon the salvation of God. See His grace and sing a new song. Make a joyful noise! Richly Dwelling -When was the last time you encountered something that you could not contain your response about? -What is the sound of your soul when you look upon the salvation provided by our Savior, Jesus Christ? -What is holding you back from making a joyful noise, shouting from salvation, joining all creation and every nation? -Take time to rejoice now, either in song or prayer. Key Verse 4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! Comments are closed.
