Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens 2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! 3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! 4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! 5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Meditation Prioritizing praising God will give unity to God’s world. Hallelujahs from the heart will bring synergy to God’s creation. Praise gives a place for the restoration and reunion of all God’s design. “Hallelujah” is the word uniting the last few Psalms, prioritizing praise for the people of God. The unity found in praise is comprehensive and catalyzing: Heaven and earth are one in worship: The people praise God from the sanctuary, joining the chorus of heaven (1). The heavenly host join the hearts of God’s people in proclaiming praise to King Jesus! God’s work and character are one in worship: The mighty deeds of God, His saving grace and redeeming love, is united with the “excellent greatness” of His character (2). The “why” of worship is emphasized through the unity of God’s work and character. Instruments and action are one in worship: The trumpets, tambourines, strings, pipes, and cymbals are unified with dancing and clashing (3-5). The response of music and movement makes a joyful noise! Every creature is one in worship: Everything that has breath including humans, animals, and all creation, is called to praise the Lord (6). God is King and everything with breath in His kingdom is called to praise Him. The priority of praise is reflected in the unity of all things focusing the hallelujahs of our hearts in worship of our God and King. Join all heaven and earth to sing songs of praise to our Savior- Praise the Lord!
